There is still plenty of opportunity to get involved in the fun. We need help with set building and changing, costume changes, props management and front of house. Enthusiasm is the only attribute required so call in to rehearsal any Monday or Wednesday and see Hugh (7.30pm onwards at Grasmere Hall).
The Hall Committee now have grants in place to start work on a new central heating system which will make our winter rehearsals and performances much more enjoyable. Let there be gas! Meanwhile the Players’ committee have been hard at work planning and negotiating our new exciting and much needed light and sound system – we are very keen to proceed a.s.a.p.
The A.G.M. will be on Tuesday 27th June at 7.30pm in Grasmere Hall. If you’re interested in being more involved with the society come along to the meeting. We’re going to need some fresh nominations for the committee so please think about joining the team.
Paines Plough theatre company will be including Grasmere on their countrywide tour – complete with pop-up tent – this September. They will be bringing some exciting new plays and will need some backstage/front of house help – the contact details for anyone wanting to get involved will be in the next newsletter.
Meanwhile I hope you’re all enjoying the sunshine – get out on the fells – this might be the only summer we get!
I hope to see you all at The Importance of Being Earnest.
