And Then There Were None

Widely regarded as one of the greatest mystery stories ever written, And Then There Were None remains Agatha Christie’s most famous and best-selling work. Combining psychological tension, sharp dialogue, and relentless suspense, the play continues to captivate audiences around the world more than eighty years after it was first published.

Set on a remote island off the English coast, the story follows ten strangers brought together under mysterious circumstances. As the weather closes in and the sense of unease grows, the guests begin to realise that all is not as it seems. Cut off from the mainland and unable to trust one another, the tension steadily rises in a story where every conversation, every silence, and every detail matters.

For this production, Grasmere Players have sought to create a darker and more atmospheric interpretation of Christie’s classic thriller. Directors Matty Jackman and Paul Davies have approached the piece not simply as a traditional “whodunnit”, but as an intense psychological drama exploring fear, guilt, suspicion, and isolation.
